CCY Names Two New Principals

CCY Architects is pleased to announce the promotion of Simon Elliot and Matt Smith to Principal.

Simon and Matt have demonstrated exceptional leadership and design capabilities on award-winning residences, as well as complex hospitality, resort, and mixed-use projects. Their contributions to the firm's culture and the development of advanced project delivery systems have helped position CCY Architects at the forefront of the industry.

Simon Elliot has been an integral member of CCY over the last two decades, working on a diverse range of projects, and assuming a central role in many of the firm's most significant private residences in Aspen and Telluride, Colorado. Accolades include numerous AIA Colorado awards, and features in publications such as Interior Design, Whitewall, The PLAN, Dezeen, LUXE, and Aspen Magazine. Simon received his B.A. in Architecture from Washington University in St. Louis and Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania. He has been actively engaged in the community, serving as the Board President for the Aspen Cycling Club and a long-time supporter of The Buddy Program.

Matt Smith has played a pivotal role in projects spanning the firm's diverse portfolio, encompassing private residential, resort, recreational, and hospitality ventures. In addition to his work on several Aspen residences, he served as Project Architect for the LEED Silver Elk Camp Restaurant at Snowmass ski area and is currently overseeing the completion of a mid-mountain lodge for the Yellowstone Club in Big Sky, Montana. Matt has also been recognized as a top Colorado designer, earning the honor of being named one of "5 Under Forty" by Colorado Homes & Lifestyles in 2018.

“Having collaborated closely with Simon and Matt on numerous projects, witnessing their passion, talents and deep commitment to delivering excellence in design has been truly gratifying. I take immense pride in seeing their hard work evolve into leadership roles within the firm. We are looking forward to Matt and Simon’s ever-increasing impact on our work, culture and nurturing the next generation of team members."”
