Senior Project Architect
CCY is seeking a talented and passionate Senior Project Architect with 12+ years of experience to join our collaborative, design-driven practice in the Rocky Mountains.
As a Senior Project Architect, you'll lead projects from concept through construction while collaborating closely with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal project teams. This role requires expertise across all phases of architectural design, project delivery, team leadership, and client relationship management.
The successful candidate will have experience managing a diverse range of project types, including Commercial and Mixed-Use developments. Hospitality experience is a plus. Responsibilities include spatial planning and design, material research and specification, construction documentation, detailing, coordination of structural and MEP systems, building code analysis, specification writing, and project QA/QC. In addition to project work, this role contributes to firmwide initiatives such as advancing project delivery standards, mentoring emerging professionals, and strengthening our collaborative design culture.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, collaborative, organized, and pragmatic, with a strong foundation in architectural design, technical execution, and project delivery. Excellent communication, leadership, collaboration, and problem-solving skills are essential. You'll work closely with firm leadership, clients, consultants, contractors, vendors, and project teams to deliver thoughtful, high-quality design solutions.
CCY is a studio-based practice and does not offer fully remote positions. This role requires candidates to be based in our Basalt, Colorado, design studio. Team members collaborate in person four days per week and may work remotely one day per week.

Responsibilities Include:
- Agility in producing conceptual and fully executed architectural and interior designs
- Ability to deftly handle multiple clients and projects simultaneously
- Develop design concepts in a collaborative, team-based studio environment
- Manage multiple medium-sized projects, and/or manage one exceptionally large project
- Produce and coordinate quality construction documents for permitting, bidding, and construction
- Lead coordination of consultants of all disciplines
- Coordinate day-to-day contract administration activities
- Provide oversight and quality review of the work of project associates and junior staff
- Coordinate project administration with the accounting and operations team, including schedule and staffing

Salary Range:
$95k-$125k
Necessary Requirements:
- An NAAB accredited professional degree in architecture
- 12 years minimum professional experience in Architecture
- Active Architectural License
- Bachelor or Masters of Architecture required
- Experience managing complex and varied projects, with direct client, consultant, and contractor interface
- A high level of REVIT literacy is required
- Fluent in Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), SketchUp, Microsoft Office Suite
- Working technical knowledge of building codes, standards, building construction, and building structures
- Ability to coordinate and lead the work of other team members through mentorship, guidance, and instruction
- Excellent verbal and graphic communication skills to work with a diverse team of designers
- Ability to work in a collaborative, fun, fast-paced environment
